OKUMA 110th Anniversary
This year marks another milestone for Okuma Corporation as it has been 110th years since Eiichi Okuma started selling noodle-making machines back in 1898. More than words of praise, Okuma's founders always valued candid advice that become the seed for improvement, and strove to develop technologies based on such advice. Okuma's history is one of cultivating new technologies, this mindset has been passed down to each new generation and lives on in our innovative technologies and approach of always putting the customer first.
While celebrating 110th anniversary, Okuma unveils the Global CS Center (Communication and Solution) during Okuma Machine Fair 2008. The Global CS Center has a building area of 3200m2, which has an exhibition area that can accomodate permanent displays of more than 30 machines. This is the place where visitors can see Okuma's latest technology and products at any time.
Over 40 machines are showcased during the fair, ranging from 2-axis lathe to multi-tasking machine. Also presence in the fair are few highly sought after products in the energy industries, LH55-N, LB45 II and LU35-M. Being a market leader in the double column machining centers (with over 7000 units installed worldwide), Okuma raised the technology bar again by introducing MCR-H which is capable to run at continuous cutting feed of 30m/min.
